Ramp was a bit mucky at the bottom. Had the river to ourselves. Saw a bald eagle. Exit ramp was sand packed most of the way to the top. Refueled at Three Kings in Des Peres, Mary met us. River was moving. I really like this portion of the Current River. Lots of bald eagles, waterfowl, turtles and bluffs. Nice day to be on the water. Dinner at Dos Rios Mexican Grill. Self shuttle. Lots of downed trees/root wads to contend with. Had the river to ourselves except for the end where a powerboat was being loud. Drove home to STL afterwards (19, 68, I44). Self shuttle. 05/15/25 Meramec River: Meramec State Park to Sand Ford Access 6 7.53 2:12:37 3.407 17:37 48.12 8.02 Meramec State Park 88.0 Sand Ford Access 95.4 Took an hour to load two kayaks on Rick's new Forester. 8 straps. Nice section of the river: flows well, wide, few obstacles. Lots of people on the river, including two power boats. Saw a Stop sign on the river bank. Perception1 226

Camped on the big gravel bar, had a wonderful 5 hour fire, lots dry wood handy there. Warmed food in foil packs for dinner. Lots of great conversation.
